I think teens to thirty - somethings will rate this story higher than me. Cadets learning about life in the service of a greater good is a good read for those of that age. Character development was good with only a few shorts. Hard to decide between 3 and 4 stars but I'll leave it here.

This is an interesting story from the perspective of a teenager. It has coming of age pieces, as well as intrigue, a mystery and some interesting surprises!

I remember my Dad telling me he had visited relatives in the UK when he was younger and they looked at him a bit askance, since we Americans switch our fork to our right hands to eat. It made me laugh to see mention of the difference in the book. )

While I would be happy to read more about Blue, I think the story wrapped up nicely; it is fully contained with no cliffhangers.
Old fashion fun reading with well built characters and more than a few twists. Really hope I don't have to wait to long for the next book.
This was a great story. Interesting, fun, futuristic and had a surprise ending. I look forward to the next book.
"Blue into the rip" is an enjoyable adventure. Similar to Heinlein's juveniles, it takes you on an adventure with unexpected twists and turns. I will definitely be purchasing the next in the series.
The book has few errors, probably due to interfering editors, has good story flow, and little mis-believable plots.
I recommend this book for teens, young and old adults.
Loved this book! It's a great multi-age, multi-genre captivating read. Think time traveling Starship Troupers with an eye to the future of Earth after climate change. The characters are nicely developed and well rounded with realistic flaws that allowed me to relate to them. Blue is like so many young men who are discovering themselves and how to function in a community. I don't want to spoil it but it keeps you hooked and guessing to the end.
Really nothing special. Not particularly horrible...but wordy...simple characters...one of a thousand unmemorable sci-fi novels flooding the market these days.
An entertaining, engrossing, and very well written story of Blue, a teenage boy who is 'ripped' several hundred years into the future and enrolled in the Space Corp. In the process, he learns the truth about his own past, and discovers something about the origin of his mysterious special powers. Excellent read!
