The War Play to Live A LitRPG Series Book 6 edition by D Rus Humor Entertainment eBooks

I loved the first few books in this series. With an unholy passion. That passion is the only reason I will be buying the last. This one.. Was just such a huge huge disappointment all the way through.

The Pros for this book.
We got to see the culmination of the war. Which gods won, and which gods lost.
We got to see Alterworld finally become a world in it's own right.

The Cons
As someone stated before. Bagheera was the pet, not Tigress. That's a pretty big plot point to miss from the previous books.
The random scenes from the real world, intruding on the scenes from the game world. A lot of them had no real reason for being there in this book, unless it's foreshadowing for the next. Otherwise.. Pointless. The rubble in space with the lich?
The story isn't about Alterworld anymore. It's half denouncing America, and half slasher flick mixed with horror movie.

Spoilers!

The one thing that.. I really, was just.. Flabbergasted by. Was when Camo was telling her story. What/where, was the point in saying that America put Russians in Ethnic camps, and proceeded to force their children into brainwashing, by, and I'll quote here, "Special Boarding schools took in over half a million teenagers to instill democratic values in them. They were subject to intense brainwashing, including exposure to gay porn, sexual orientation tests, and mandatory hormone therapy to make the individual conform to American standards." Followed by the next paragraph which ended with the, "No uprisings, no aggressive behavior, complete indifference to the sex of the future spouse. Boy, girl, dog, or virtual headset - everything was the same, everything was acceptable and encouraged."

That's... Way way way way way over the top, for a book. I'm not the kind of person to complain about an author putting their points of view in a book, because, really, it's their writing, it's their story, their thoughts are what help form it. But that? Had absolutely no bearing on the story, and reads like nothing more than propaganda. I don't know if it was the translator slipping their own political views into the mix, or if Rus wrote it as such, but come on.

The War Play to Live A LitRPG Series Book 6 edition by D Rus Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews

I noticed in the first few books how D. Rus portrayed how corrupt the current government was in the real world and escaping to AlterWorld was one of the few ways to gain freedom. Now, six books into the series, they've discovered that the real enemy is "America", which has a brain washing program to turn Russian immigrants into slave labor. Really!?!

As much as I like the first few books, it now seems that large portions of the story set in the real world are being thrown in just to satisfy some sort of thought police/state editor requirement. The plot seems to be suffering from it also, with characters mixed up and the general pacing of the story disjointed. I have a feeling this might just be the translator, but I'm done. I don't really care about Laith anymore and the author's opinions about women and gay people are starting to make me feel uncomfortable. Its like sitting next to a crazy uncle ranting about the good ole days.
Not the same as first books at all. What's with the hate for Americans? Forcing Russian immigrants to watch gay porn and brainwashing them???? Weird
Sexist.Homophobic.Riddled with plot holes and mistakes. Author has spread himself to thin over the maze of a plot he has created
This was awful. The first five books were very good, but I honestly feel like someone else wrote this. Major plot/story lines very mixed up, a total change in attitude/tone of the political viewpoints, and finally the "story" one character gives for their origin. It's just pure crap. For me, an author is only as good as their last book, and this will be the last D. Rus book I purchase.

It's a shame to see what started as such a great series turn into utter crap.
The book was very rushed. I felt as though the sequence of events were odd. They also made me think that it was just used to create more avenues for the continuation of the book which lets me down due to the first 3 books standard quality. On top of this there was plenty of errors in spelling and just names
Consistency is this authors nemesis. The rules, characters attributes... all change drastically from book to book to book. sometimes within the same book. This whole series is badly in need of an editor who actually read the books. Having said that I still like this book in spite of the consistency problems and "wheels comming off".
Too many political views mashed into what otherwise would have been a great story. After reading this book I feel guilty having suggested it to friends.
